22 May Indian Hills And Ramapo High School Make The Commitment To Drive Safer
Drive Safer is proud to announce that they have partnered with Indian Hills and Ramapo High School in an attempt to make students in Wyckoff, Oakland, and Franklin Lakes safer drivers.
The partnership entitles the high schools to educational materials, hands-on assemblies, parent and teen programs, and more. Indian Hills and Ramapo High School students who register for any of the Drive Safer events will also have a percentage of their registration fee donated back to their school’s fundraising budget.
Motor vehicle accidents are the number 1 killer of teens nationwide – more than drugs, homicides and suicides combined. According to the Center for Disease Control, 11 teens aged 16-19 die every day due to motor vehicle accidents. The main reasons for these startling statistics are that today’s teens do not have enough experience behind the wheel before they go on the road, and most importantly, they are taught how to operate, not control their vehicles.
Recognizing the gap that exists between what is taught in today’s driver’s education and what really happens on the road, Drive Safer developed a focused car control course for teens that teaches them how to control their vehicles in the face of real world situations. Taught by a team of certified high-performance driving instructors, the program is designed to be safe, educational and fun.
“Partnering with schools like Indian Hills and Ramapo High Schools allows us to truly become part of the community effort to develop more skilled and better prepared young drivers,” said Jason Friedman, CEO of Drive Safer, LLC. “Our goal is to develop these critical skills that could one day save their lives, and at the same time, make the roads in Franklin Lakes, Oakland, and Wyckoff safer for everyone.”
Several students from Indian Hills and Ramapo High School participated in Drive Safer’s Spring Launch event at MetLife Stadium on May 19th. The next Drive Safer event will be held on Sunday, June 9th.
Drive Safer offers a behind the wheel defensive driving course and two other defensive driving course options that meets the criteria to deduct points from your license AND get you an insurance reduction.
