DRIVE SAFER HAS SUCCESSFUL RUN WITH JUNE EVENT AT METLIFE STADIUM
Beautiful Weather Makes For Great Learning Experience
As the sun beat down in East Rutherford, students took their seats in the classroom at Drive Safer’s June 9th event at MetLife Stadium. While enjoying the temporary shade before stepping out into the heat, students focused on the day’s agenda: a car control course for teens that teaches them how to control their vehicles in the face of real world situations. A team of certified high-performance driving instructors lined the back of the room waiting to collect their student drivers.
Once out in the open, students participated in four behind the wheel exercises: Braking, Slalom, Skidpad and Hazard Avoidance. As each student made their way through the exercises, they learned how to control their vehicle while facing real road obstacles that are often a potentially dangerous test of a driver’s skills. A short mid-day break was used for a defensive driving class in which students were able to receive a certificate making them eligible for a discount off their auto insurance and even to get 2 points off their license, if they already had them.
High School students whose school signed up with the Drive Safer program had 12% of their registration fee donated back to their school’s fundraising budget. To learn more about how your school can partner with Drive Safer, click here.
The next Drive Safer car control course currently scheduled will be held on Sunday, August 25th at MetLife Stadium.
Drive Safer offers a behind the wheel defensive driving course and two other defensive driving course options that meets the criteria to deduct points from your license AND get you an insurance reduction.
